Learn about current ethical and multicultural issues, guidelines for ethical care, share information, and develop new relationships with colleagues from across the state and country.
About the Event
This LIVE one-day event brings 6 inspiring presenters, known as leaders in our field, on the topic of counselor ethics and multicultural counseling. Each presenter will offer a 1-1.5-hour session.
For each session you attend, you receive 1:1 continuing education credit upon completion of an evaluation.
Attendees will learn to apply ethical standards to professional and personal responsibilities, improve ethical decision-making, learn to notice and identify ethical dilemmas, and better evaluate practices for potential risks.
You can register to join us in-person, which includes lunch, or you can register for an online livestream of each session.
This LIVE continuing education event offers a total of 6 ETHIC NBCC CEs, including 3 Multicultural CEs.

This consortium offers innovative speakers from the counseling field to talk about ethics and multicultural counseling! You have the opportunity to hear from speakers, known to be affiliated with ethical committees and leaders in the field on ethical concerns, at this multi-disciplinary forum, including faculty, authors, and licensed providers.
Dr. Elsa Soto-Leggett, LPC-S, RPT-S
Counselor Educator
President Elect 2024-2025 American Counseling Association
Dr. Soto-Leggett is an associate professor and practicum/internship coordinator at Truman State University Sole Proprietor, Shelter Counseling and Supervision. Dr. Soto-Leggett is a Mexican American counselor whose unique perspective of service has been influenced by voices of her past.
Dr. Emily Stone, LMFT-S
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Dr. Stone is a licensed marriage and family therapists with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in EFT, EMDR, IFS, and QTAP training and therapies. Dr. Stone teaches psychology and counseling at Keiser University for Queer and Trans Affirming Practitioners. She is the owner of The Unstuck Therapy Group in Austin, TX.
Dr. Patrice Dunn, LPC-S
Counselor Educator
Dr. Dunn is a licensed professional counselor and supervisor in Texas. She is the owner of Real Life Counseling and Consultation Services, PLLC. She is known as a motivational speaker and speaker of truth. Dr. Dunn is an assistant professor of graduate adult education and clinical mental health at Midwestern State University. Dr. Dunn speaks on multicultural topics such as the implications of code switching.
Kristal DeSantis, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Mrs. DeSantis is a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified clinical trauma specialist, and certified sex therapy informed professional. After years of research and clinical work she developed a framework, The Strong Model, for couples seeking to navigate complexities of modern love. She is the author of 'STRONG: A Relationship Field Guide for the Modern Man'.
Dr. Dawn Brunkenhoefer, LPC-S
Counselor Educator
Dr. Brunkenhoefer is a private practice owner, certified EMDR clinician, speaker, and entrepreneur. She has applied her years of experience as a leader and educator in the mental health field to create innovative trainings and retreats for therapists of all levels. Dr. Brunknenhoefer is a lecturer in the graduate counseling department at Texas State University.
Rebecca Ray, LMFT-S
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Mrs. Ray is a licensed marriage and family therapist supervisor and a certified sex addiction therapist. Rebecca is a certified EMDR therapist and specializes in training to treat sex addiction and betrayal trauma. She works with couples and is a certified clinical partner specialist (CCPS). Rebecca owns Ray Family Therapy in Houston, TX.

Livestream attendance allows you to attend from anywhere. You will receive a private link before the day of the consortium with instructions for logging into the sessions. You will have the ability to interact with the host during the session.
